The course is split into 6 chapters:

  • We kick off the day by introducing structure and discipline into your communication planning, using the UK Government's “OASIS” framework.

    We'll also learn how to set actionable objectives using the “SMART” model and explore how marketing funnels can be used to map the actions of our audience.

  • As comms professionals, we are also brand guardians. We’ll explore the core elements that make a brand impactful and uncover key strategies to protect, strengthen, and elevate your organisation’s brand. 

    We’ll also focus on personal branding, offering insights on how to craft a professional image to advance your career.

  • Storytelling lies at the heart of effective communications. We'll explore how to create compelling stories and consistent narratives, as well learn essential copywriting principles to drive impact with your audiences. 

  • We'll cover the fundamentals of different social media platforms, when to use each one and how to share content effectively.

    We'll also cover key principles for design and content creation, staying on top of social trends, and embedding best practices for newsletters and websites.

  • This chapter will equip you with the tools and techniques to embed measurement, testing and learning in your communications strategy.

    We’ll explore methodologies for evaluating outputs, outcomes and impact, helping you produce meaningful reports for your channels and campaigns.
